Edith (Scaggs) Bailey

Edith Bailey 87 of Ravenna passed away Friday January 16, 2015 at the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio .  She was born January 6, 1928 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Charles and Thelma (Layne) Scaggs.  Mrs. Bailey has lived in Ravenna since 1960 and had retired from CVS.  She had also worked at the Lake Forest Country Club and Brady's Leap restaurant  on the Ohio turnpike.  One of her favorite things to do was to go to Myrtle Beach as her family vacation spot and cook biscuits and gravy.  Survivors include her children Deborah (Tim) Aikens of Munroe Falls, Curtis Bailey of Cleveland, Charles (Julie) Bailey of Ravenna, Michael (Catherine) Bailey  of Covington, GA and David Bailey of Ravenna.  She is the loving grandma to nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband  Ralph on April 17, 1991, four brothers and one sister.  Calling hours will be on Wednesday January 21, 2015 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM  at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Rev. Bill Snyder Officiating.  Burial will follow the services at Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to donor's favorite charity.  Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.sscfunerahomes.com.
