Edmund Papczun, 90, of Streetsboro, OH, passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 3, 2024. Born on July 27, 1934, Ed lived a life filled with love, dedication, and passion for his family, and his savior Jesus Christ.
A proud veteran, Ed served honorably in the United States Army, embodying the values of service and sacrifice. Before his military service, he was a standout athlete at Garfield Heights High School, excelling in both basketball and baseball. His natural talent, sportsmanship, and leadership on the court and field left an indelible mark on his teammates and coaches.
A lifelong Cleveland sports fan, Ed could often be found cheering on his beloved Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers through triumphs and trials, always holding out hope for the next championship season.
Ed’s greatest pride and love was his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara, and their four sons: Eddie, Kent, Brett, and Eric, and is proceeded in his passing by his stepdaughter Debi. His humor, and love extended to his four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Ed’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 10:00AM Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
Though his passing leaves a profound void, Ed’s warmth, resilience, and unwavering loyalty to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
