Edwin M. Dorsey 82 of Palmyra died Monday, January 2, 2017. He was born May 14, 1934 in Nettie, WV to Ora L. and Edith (Bailes) Dorsey. Mr. Dorsey has lived in Palmyra for 60 years,owned the Sunoco Station in Edinburg for many years, worked as a Lab Technician for Babcock & Wilcox in Alliance and was a member of the Charity Lodge #530 in Deerfield. Survivors include his daughters Sharon D. (Ronald) Jenkins and Sherry (Richard) Blasens both of Diamond, grandchildren Rich (Michele) Chaney, Michael (Nina) Jenkins and Josh(Megan) Gray, great grandchildren Tyler, Alexis, Emma, and Erin Chaney, sister Vivian Shockley of Nettie, WV, brother Sheldon Dorsey of Nettie, WV, brother in law Gene (Mary Ann) Russell, sister in law Linda (Russ) McDonald and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Shirley R. Dorsey in 2005. Calling hours will be from 3 PM to 7 PM Friday,January 6, 2017 and from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 11 AM Saturday,January 7, 2017 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Reverend Tim Paroz will officiate. Burial will follow in Palmyra West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial s should be made to the Edinburg United Church Building Fund,4081 Rock Spring Road, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
