Edwin D. Leiendecker

Edwin D. Leiendecker 88 of Ravenna passed away peacefully at his home on Monday March 13, 2017 with his family by his side.   He was born  October 23, 1928 in Hiram Rapids, Ohio to the late John and Nettie (Odell) Leiendecker.  Mr. Leiendecker has lived in Ravenna since 1954 and had retired from the Ravenna US Post office  where he had worked as a Letter Carrier.  He was a member of the Victory Baptist Temple in Brimfield and enjoyed gardening.  He proudly served his country  as a veteran of  the US Army.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle to his wife Rachel (Farthing) Leiendecker whom he married  July 3, 1954, his sons, Michael (Lois) Leiendecker of Ravenna Twp., John (Laura) Leiendecker of Canton, his grandchildren , Ethan, Jaret, Ashley (Bobby) Simmons, his sister Lillian Parcelluzi of Florida and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Lloyd, Horace, Roger and Robert.  At his request cremation has taken place.  Memorial calling hours will be Saturday March 18, 2017 from 11 AM until time of memorial services at 12 Noon at the Victory Baptist Temple 4167 St Rt 43 Kent, Ohio 44240.  Pastor Charles Whetzell will be officiating the services.  The family would like to thank the Veterans Administration, Home Instead,  Hospice of Akron General Cleveland Clinic,  and the care givers, especially Shea, Patty and Debbie.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Temple in Kent, the Hospice of Akron General Cleveland Clinic or donors choice.  Condolences and memories of Edwin may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
