Effie M. Bates

Effie M. Bates, 74 of Ravenna formerly of Kent, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the UH Portage Medical center. She was born on June 24, 1947 in Ohio to the late Wilbert A. and Hazel L. McHue. Effie worked as a professional counselor and was a member of the Kent Christian Life Center. She is survived by her children Richard L. (Tracy) Lewis, Janet (Allan) Daly, Edward (Becky) Bates and Raymond Bates, brother Bill McHue, many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with a funeral service on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00AM.
