Elizabeth Anne (Kouba) Koran

Elizabeth Anne Koran 93 of Shalersville died Thursday, April 4, 2013. She was born April 30, 1919 in Cleveland, Ohio to Louis and Emma (Svoboda) Kouba and was raised in Garfield Hights, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George in 1993, son Tom in 1994, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include her daughters Annette (Robert) Miller of Streetsboro and Nancy (Ray) Zahab of Ottawa, Canada, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and a sister Alice Mady of Bainbridge. She will be remembered best for applying the best lessons learned. Having been raised during the depression, raising her children in the fifties and encouraging them to live their lives in a country where values are second to none. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro and especially enjoyed helping with the Alter & Rosary rummage sales. There will be no calling hours, a mass of christian burial will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 11, 2013 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro with Father Pat Ferraro officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to The Portage County APL, PO Box 927, Ravenna, OH 44266. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel.
