Elizabeth Jean (Sampson) Crock

Elizabeth “Jean” (Sampson) Crock, 83 of Cuyahoga Falls , formerly of Streetsboro, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012 . She passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a long illness. Jean was born on Christmas Day. 1928 in McKees Rocks, PA to Thomas Edward and Anna Elizabeth (Ceyrolles) Sampson. Her family moved to Cuyahoga Falls and settled on Charles Street near Roberts Middle School . She married Christopher Crock in June of 1950 and moved to Streetsboro on Kennedy Road where they raised their five children. Jean was a fun-loving and generous woman devoted to her family. Her life was an example of how to treat others as you would want to be treated. Chris and Jean were founding members of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro. Jean was a member of Juniors Mothers, Sacred Heart Circle and a room mother for all of her children. She loved music and had a voice like an angel. In 1994 when Chris retired from Crown Mold & Machine in Streetsboro they moved to Cuyahoga Falls . Survivors include her daughters Karen (Bob) Halmayr of Venice, FL, Marcia (Lynn) Miller of Streetsboro, Christine Thompson of Streetsboro and Cynthia (John) Timoney of Nokomis, FL, son Craig Crock of Frisco, TX, grandchildren Jodi Novak, Melissa (Chris) Trimmer, Justin Bloomquist, Christopher (Joanne) Quesenberry, Kristi (John) Gunyula, Taylor and Tyler Thompson, Nichole and Erin Timoney, Kristen, Kevin and Michael Crock; great grandchildren David Jr, Katie and Adam Bowser, Grace and Gabrielle Gunyula and Hailey Quesenberry, four sister-in-laws and lots of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, her parents and her brother Charles "Bob" Sampson. Memorial calling hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Friday, December 21, 2012 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the funeral home with Reverend Jerry Witt officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
