Emily A. (Donnell) Yates

Emily A. Yates, born July 24, 1927 in Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on January 12, 2016 at Heather Knolls Nursing Home.  A resident of Streetsboro since 1954.  Emily  married John A. Yates, Sr. on January 31, 1947.  They were married until his passing on November 1, 1977.  Emily retired from Stouffers after 13 years of service.  Emily was a devote Christian and loved God and her church.  She enjoyed bowling, dancing on the weekends and spending time with her family.  Emily was a professional Hula dancer during  WW II.  She also enjoyed  swimming and many senior trips with her dear friend Patty.  Emily is survived by her devoted daughter Maria Hilditch of Kent, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Emily was preceded in death by her husband, son john A. Yates, Jr, son David A. Yates Sr., daughter Sheila L .Yates and one grandson David A. Yates, Jr.  Calling hours will be 4-8 PM Monday January 18, 2016 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes  Streetsboro Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday January 19, 2015.  Burial will follow services at Evergeen Cemetery Streetsboro, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Emily may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
