Erin Leslie Cross Ralston, 30 , died unexpectedly on Thursday August 11, 2016 at Akron General Hospital in Akron, Ohio.  She fought a courageous nine month battle with metastic, Stage 4 breast cancer. She died peacefully surrounded by her family and many friends.  She was born October 28, 1985, close to Halloween and always loved the festivities associated with it and Christmas.  She was the wife of Derek Ralston of Mogadore and the daughter of Les and Debbie (Hugill) Cross, formerly of Randolph.  Erin grew up in Randolph, Ohio as a honor student through her school years.  Graduating in 2004 from Waterloo High school, she was active in cheerleading, golf and track.  Her other interests included many years in dance, gymnastics, baton and modeling.  She loved Belize, Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Chicago and Nashville.  She graduated from Kent State with 2 degrees in radiology and nuclear medicine.  She pursued a career as a mobile x-ray tech and then became a manager at Mobilex.  Her dedication to her patients and co-workers was amazing.  She was married to Derek Ralston formerly of Rootstown on October 12, 2013.  Upon their marriage they enjoyed long walks with their dogs, camping, fishing and boating with their many friends.  She is also survived by her in-laws, Tim and Carol Ralston of Rootstown, sister in law Sarah Ralston, her brother Erik Cross,  sister in law Dianna and niece, Jayla Cross all of Jacksonville, Florida and will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins and her beloved dog Mocha.  Calling hours will be Tuesday August 16, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel, where funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday August 17, 2016 with her brother Erik Cross officiating.  At the family's request cremation will follow the services.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Erin Cross Ralston should be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tenn. 38105.  Condolences  and memories of Erin may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
