Erma Jean (Boone) Harner-Hostetler

Erma Jean Boone Harner Hostetler was born on November 17, 1925 in Mantua Township, OH to the late Carl and Vera (nee Reed) Boone and went to join many friends and her Lord in heaven on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022.

She will be dearly missed by her 9 children: Alice (John) Schmitt, Vera Loughry, Dorothy (Ron) Reed (previously Edwards), Ray (Ann) Harner, Melanie Castor (previously Gano), Bob (Dian) Harner, Connie (Ken) Cash (previously Stratton), Ralph (Wendy) Harner and Rick (Jiji) Harner, along with her 23 surviving grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, her sister in law, numerous nephews and nieces, and many step grandchildren and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Robert Judson Harner (father of her children) in 1985 after 42 years of marriage and Roy Hostetler (father of step children David and Naomi) in 2002.  Also pre-deceasing her were 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, all 7 siblings, her parents and all of her classmates from the Mantua Township High School class of 1943.

Erma loved her family and she enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, adventures (zip-lining at age 89) and traveling (Africa, Aruba, Alaska, China (climbing the Great Wall), France, Philippines, Scotland, Switzerland etc). She was involved in many Bible quizzing teams and women’s activities at Crossroads Community Church in Shalersville and a longtime manager at Rt. 43 Laundromat in Streetsboro.

Friends may join the family for visitation at Shorts Spicer Funeral Home on 9781 Page Rd Streetsboro OH 44241 on Monday, June 13th, 2022 from 10:00am, until 12:00 noon where Erma's funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Center.
