Esther C. (Cunningham) Decara

Esther C. DeCara, 81, of Shalersville, Ohio passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on January 7th 2012. She was born Sept. 30, 1930 in Uniontown, Pa to the late Wilbur and Harriet Cunningham.  Esther was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor, and friend.  She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Walter M. DeCara, children Robert (Gretchen) DeCara, Gary (Linda) DeCara, Deborah (Robert Puckett) Sparks,
Nancy (Vern) Baker, and Timothy (Marilyn) DeCara. Grandchildren Robert, Michelle, Jacqueline, Lisa, Corissa and Arika. Sisters Carrie Beth (Mohammed) Amiri and Bonnie (Frank) Klanduch.  Brother in law Edward (Jean) DeCara, sister in law Mary Gallagher, 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, step grandchildren, devoted family members, friends and neighbors. She is preceeded in death by her son Thomas E. DeCara, sister Alice, brothers Thomas, Wilbur, Richard and beloved brother in laws and sister in laws. Calling hours will be held from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday January 10th  2012 and 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm January 11th 2012. at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel with the funeral service to follow Wednesday evening's calling hours.  There will be a burial following cremation at Riverside cemetery in Shalersville Saturday January 14th 2012. Donations can be made in memory of Esther to the Robinson Memorial Hospital Visiting Nurse and Hospice 6847 N. Chestnut Street, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.  A special thank you Hospice's extraordinary staff for their loving care and compassion.
