Eugene L. Kotecki 85 of Streetsboro, formerly of Cleveland, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare in Beachwood, OH. He was born June 2, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank and Lottie (Zakrzemski) Kotecki. Mr. Kotecki was a decorated US Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of St. Andrews Eastern Orthodox Church in Maple Heights and worked as a lumber checker for Forest City Materials and as a tallyman and union steward at Cleveland Plywood. Survivors include his son Michael (Carolyn) Kotecki of Streetsboro, grandchildren Aaliyah, Damien and Alice and a sister Dorothy of Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anna E. and daughter Karen Lynn Kotecki. Calling hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Friday, January 16, 2015 with Parastas Service at 7:30 PM Friday at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home, 9781 Page Road, Streetsboro, OH 44241. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Andrews Eastern Orthodox Church, 16029 Maple Park Drive, Cleveland, OH 44137 with the Very Rev. Fr. Emilian Hutnyan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Cuyahoga Heights.
