Ezell Jr. resided in Ravenna OH, and passed away Tuesday April 22, 2025, at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Ezell Jr. was born August 26, 1962, in Pomaria, SC to Ezell Starks, Sr. and Ruth K, (Kirkland) Starks.
Ezell worked numerous jobs as a fork lift driver for various companies until he medically retired. He was known as family man and his passion and love were his children. He grew up in Windham OH, and an alumnus of the Windham Bombers where he played basketball, baseball, ran track. Ezell loved shooting pool with his dad (Ezell Sr.) and uncle Abdul Karim. He also enjoyed eating his mom's cooking, had a passion for music, especially “oldies era”, such as James Brown, BB King, Temptations, Motown, Earth Wind and Fire, and countless other old and new tunes.
As the oldest son, Ezell took pride in setting a standard for being well dressed with the best “Fits” for any event. He was known for his big heart and was someone that would give his last to help others. To all that knew Ezell and whatever you may have called him: Dad, Papi, Grandad, Baldy, EJ, Uncle EJ, Cuz, Cousin, Easy Does It, etc., he is smiling, breathing freely, pain free, and resting with the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his father Ezell Starks, Sr. and brother Ronald O. Starks. He is survived by his children Taniesha M. (Clark) Jones, Vanessa V. Starks, Krista L. Starks, Dominic R. Starks, his mother Ruth K. Starks, his siblings Mary Ann (Jay) Simon, Carolyn J. Starks, Bobby C. (Marchella) Starks, Lori L. Starks, Phil J. (Tonya) Starks, as well as a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be 10:00am – 11:00am, Saturday May 3, 2025 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 11:00am with Pastor Sampson Murry officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio. The Starks Family expresses gratitude for your prayers, comforting messages, calls, cards, flowers, and other expressions of care and concern.
