The angels in Heaven are rejoicing, F. Paul Wilhelm 81, a lifetime resident of Ravenna, passed away peacefully at his residence with his wife by his side Saturday May 14, 2011. He was born January 2, 1930 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Frank and Mildred (Lowe) Wilhelm. He graduated from Ravenna City in 1948, and KSU in 1952 , was a member of the First Congregational Church in Rootstown and had worked for the Civil Defense in Cleveland and the Elbex company in Kent. Paul had a great sense of humor, always able to come up with "Paul jokes" and creating Pallmark cards for the little ones. He enjoyed singing in the choir, directing the UCC Choir in Rootstown for 20 years and even being a soloist at weddings. His baratone voice will be missed. Most of all he loved traveling with his wife and being with his family. Being an only child, Paul is survived by his wife of 32 years Carolyn (Haven) Wilhelm, children David (Vicki) Hoskin of Garrettsville, Bethany (David) Thomas of Ravenna, Douglas (Gayle) Hoskin of Kent, grandchildren Karen Hoskin of Akron, Kevin Hoskin of Garrettsville, Michael (Deena) Thomas of Ravenna, Jennifer (Matthew) Pallotta of Cuyahoga Falls, Douglas and Christopher Hoskin both of Kent, great grandchildren Alexander, Samantha, Kaitlynne, Tyler, Joshua, Bailey. Calling hours will be from 12 noon until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Rev. Keith McKnight officiating.
