Fayetta (Anderson) Butler

Fayetta Butler, 87 of Ravenna, formerly of Michigan, passed away peacefully,  Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Tamarack Ridge Nursing Home. She was born October 18, 1935 in Regina, KY to Elmer and Lucy (Blackburn) Anderson.  For many years of her life, Fayetta's passion was caring for those suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's. She was an active member of her church, The Metropolitan Church of the Nazarene in Roseville, Mi.  In her free time she loved working in her yard tending to her flowers and vegetable garden. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother to not only her family; but, to the families in her neighborhood. Everyone on her street called her "Granny Faye!"  Survivors include her son Jimmy Butler, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and siblings Lynda Bernard and Andy Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clark Overstreet, sons Roger and David Butler and granddaughter Ciara Butler. Calling hours will be at 11 AM followed by the funeral service at 12 PM Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
