Florence Leighty

Florence (Fike) VanSickle Leighty 97 of Markleysburg passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019. She was born February 22, 1922 in Friendsville, MD to Clyde Samuel and Mary (Bowser) Fike. Florence worked on the farm and was a homemaker. She was a member of Union Chapel Church in Markleysburg. Survivors include her daughters Jolene Glotfety and Lucene (Gary) Leech, stepson Dennis Leighty, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a sister Linda Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Ross VanSickle and Harold Leighty and siblings Robert Fike, Dorothy Ferrence, Luanna Sisler and Clyde Fike, Jr. Calling hours will be from 3 - 8 PM Friday, August 23, 2019 and form 11 AM until  time of funeral service at 12 noon on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Union Chapel Church in Markleysburg. Reverend David Herring will officiate. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery in Markleysburg. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Union Chapel Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Stretsboro Chapel.
