Florence E. (`Preston) Smith

Florence E. Smith 89 of Kent died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Kent Healthcare Center. She was born December 25, 1923 in Johnstown, PA to John Preston and Freda Crowe Williams. Florence has lived in Kent since the 1960's and worked as a manager for Clarkins Department Store. Survivors include her daughter Susan Frantz of Kent, grandchildren Jodi (Russell) Thornton of Garrettsville, Mark (Sharon) Frantz and Todd Frantz both of Ravenna, Denise (Brian) Garvin of Madison, Randy Smith of Columbus, Russell (Jennifer) Smith of Cuyahoga Falls and Rodney Smith of Delaware and great grandchildren Michael Bonica, MiKayla and Emma Thornton, Braden Frantz, Nicole Hatch, Rachael and Lindsay Garvin and Julie and Amy Smith. There will be no calling hours or services, cremation has taken place. Entombment will be in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, 70 West Streetsboro Street, Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236. The services have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
