Forrest L Ashley

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, Forrest L. Lashley, 95, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at the Gardens at Liberty Park in Streetsboro. He was born June 11, 1924 in Lore City, Ohio to the late Clarence and Dora (Finley) Lashley.  Forrest married Irene (Gerrick) on July 8, 1950 and they lived in Steubenville, Ohio until  moving to Streetsboro two years ago. Forrest owned a jewelry store in Steubenville, Ohio from which he retired  and was a member of theLaBelle View United Methodist church. He was a proud service member of the Army, where he served during WWII.  Survivors include Irene, his wife of 69 years along with his two children Rick (Debbie Shorts) Lashley of Ravenna and Kathy (Craig) Poffenberger of Chesterfield, VA and his grandchildren Luke (Cassandra Ramsey) Poffenberger of Sacramento, CA and Adam (Nicole) Poffenberger of Fredericksburg, VA. Per his request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.  Memories and condolences of Forrest can be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhome.com.
