Francis W. Gary

Francis "F.W." W.  Gary (WB8YMD) 84 of Stow passed away Tuesday January 4, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center in Akron.  He was born December 19, 1926 in Rowlesburg, WVA to the late James S. and Virginia (Cole) Gary.  Mr. Gary has lived in Stow since 1997 and was formerly a long time resident of Brimfield.  He retired from CSX Transportation where he worked as an Engineer Signals and Communications.  He was a member of the Portage Amateur Radio Club and was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II.  Survivors include his sons Gregg (Jeananne) Gary of Stow, Kevin (Cindy) Gary of Ravenna, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brother James Gary of Pembrooke Pines, Florida and sisters Louise Griffith of Wildwood, Florida and Karen Sheets of Rowlesburg, WVA.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by first wife Norma Jean in 1972 and his second wife Doris Jean in 1995.  Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday January 7, 2011 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday January 8, 2010 with Pastor Dallas Sanford Officiating.  Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery Brimfield, Ohio.  The family reguests that in Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice Care Center 3558 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, Ohio 44222.
