Fred D Funnell

Fred Funnell, 67 years old of Aurora, passed in his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday August 23, 2017.  Fred was a warrior. A generous man that would help anyone he could.  His passion was fishing the waters of Lake Erie, often accompanied by his long time friend Harry Diamond.  He was a veteran of the US Army.  He met his amazing wife of years of 44 years, Katherine "Nee Studzinski" through her cousin James Studzinski.  Fred and Katherine were a dynamic team who worked hard to build a beautiful life for their children, Kimberly (Jon) Repcik and Kevin (Jeanna) Funnell.  His grandsons Zane and Zachary Repcik stole his heart the day they were born.  Fred enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball and football.  He was proud of their accomplishments and the young men they have become.   His extended family of nieces Lara, Meghan, Jenny and Wendy, nephews Joshua, Adam and Zachary, his brother in laws Robert, Terry, Gary (Dee) will miss him and loved him dearly .  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister in law Beth.  At Fred's request cremation has taken place.  A very special blessing to Aseracare Hospice.  Fred's nurse Mary was an angel placed in his path to help Fred's final journey be peaceful and free.  Ellen the chaplain was a comfort to the family.  The gift of hospice was such a wonderful blessing.  Condolences and memories of Fred may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
