Garner Tiller 78 of Streetsboro passed away Wednesday August 1, 2012 at Akron City hospital. He was born May 12, 1934 Council, VA. to the late Ezra and Beatrice (Owens) Tiller. He served in the US Army, worked and retired from the Ford Walton Hill stamping plant after 32 years. He attended the Streetsboro United Methodist Church, was a member the Streetsboro VFW, American Legion, UAW Local #460, and Eagles Club. Garner enjoyed playing golf, bowling active gardener, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by loving wife, Nellie (Fulks) Tiller, whom he married February 2, 1960, daughter Anita (Joseph) Schlosser of Uniontown, David (Patti Shuminski) Tiller of Streetsboro, grandchildren, Cara, Eric, Garrett, Jon, Maggie, brothers, Donald Ralph Tiller of Lebanon, VA, Wallace (Mary Lynn) Tiller of Cuyahoga Falls, and Chatman Tiller of Akron. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Maggie Edith Tiller and Clara Ann Tiller. Calling hours will be held from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. The American Legion and VFW will have services at 7:30 PM during the calling hours. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Byron George officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery following the service. The family would like to Thank the Streetsboro Fire Dept. and Summa Akron City Hospital Emergency room staff .
