Gaye E. (Lettie) Combs

September 13, 1941 — October 7, 2016

Gaye E. Combs, 75 of Newton Falls, went to see Jesus Friday October 7, 2016, where she received her “New Skinny Body”! Gaye was born September 13, 1941 to Harry and Lucille Lettie, who proceeded her in death. Gaye leaves to cherish her memory her husband Jerry Combs, their daughter Cassi (Calvin Law) Bishop of Akron. Their 3 amazing grandsons Chandler Bishop of Akron, Dalton (Rachel) Bishop of Columbus, and Peighton Bishop of Newton Falls. The 3 boys father Ron Bishop, her sisters Darlene Lettie of Warren, Charlene Crissman of Champion, and brother Lloyd (Anne) Lettie of Southington. Also an adopted daughter Susan (Richard) Jones and their children; Kayla, Brittney, Kendra, Marie, and Jordan, and a great grand daughter Abbagail all of Tennessee. Gaye enjoyed 50 wonderful years with Jerry, the love of her life. Gaye and Jerry lovingly opened their home and their hearts to 86 foster children over the course of 30 years. She was a member of the First Church of God Newton Falls, where she was a faithful and dedicated servant. Gaye enjoyed crafting and crocheting, especially doing plastic canvas items which she would make and give away hundreds of every year when her and Jerry would go to North Carolina to the Cove for a bible conference. She was the most loving, gracious, caring, kind and selfless woman to ever live.  Gaye enjoyed- loved actually playing shanghi rummy, which the family played every holiday. Gaye actually won 2 games. She would never win, but enjoyed playing.  Gaye will be missed by so many friends and also strangers, because she never knew a stranger! Calling hours will be Friday October 14, 2016 from 10:00 Am until time of funeral services at 12 Noon at the at the First Church of God 429 W. Broad Street Newton Falls. At her requests cremation will follow and then she will be laid to rest in the Newton Falls Cemetery on Ridge Road. Arrangements entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna where condolences and memories of Gaye may be shared with the family at wwwsscfuneralhomes.
