Gayle Marie Carrigo-Lewis was born on February 18th, 1962, in Cleveland to the late George and Beverly Carrigo and unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, Sept 18th at U.H. Ravenna.
Gayle retired from Streetsboro City Schools in 2016 and served as Auxiliary President of VFW Post 3716 for 10 yrs as well as bartending. She loved to cook for everyone, whether it was for 2 or 200, if Gayle made it, it was delicious. Gayle loved the beach, fishing at the beach, laying on the beach and thinking about the beach. Taking care of her family was her first priority. Gayle took being a grandmother (Nonnie) to another level. Every child should have a Nonnie like her! Survived by her husband Tom, children; Brad Carrigo, Shane (Jim) Lewis, Samantha (George) Szuhay and Dalton Lewis, her precious grandchildren; Alana, Stella, Kinsey, Athena and Rowen, siblings; Ken (Tina) Carrigo, Tracy (Bill) Magrell, Michelle (Jason) Marinin, Tony Carrigo, step-father Ed Lupton, Great Aunt Cina and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank all the nurses in the ICU for the amazing care and compassion provided. A special thank you to the musical therapist who went the extra mile for us which will never be forgotten.
In honoring Gayle’s wishes she was cremated. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel, 9781 Page Rd. Streetsboro, Ohio 44241 from 5-7pm. Please visit www.sscfuneralhomes.com to sign guestbook or share a fond memory.
