Geneva A Meloy

Geneva Meloy of Brimfield passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026 at Altercare Nursing Home after living a full life of 90 years. Friends, relatives and co-workers remember her as a kind person with a tender heart for anyone in need. She worked at Altercare 36 years before retiring in 2015. Despite numerous challenges, she overcame them with patience and a resilient spirit. Geneva was devoted to her family and loved animals. She was preceded in death by her husband (Willard Meloy), mother (Garnet Criss), brother (Frank Criss), sisters (May Brown, Jane Liposehak) and eldest child(Walter Meloy). Geneva is survived by four children—Richard (Margie), Sue (Bob), Wanda (George), Tim(Nicole), her beloved sister, Pam (James)—along with 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Her family is greatly comforted by the fact that she is more alive today in Jesus’ loving arms than she has felt in recent years. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon on March 21st at Shorts-Spicer-Crisper Funeral Home, 141 N. Meridian St., Ravenna, Ohio, with services starting immediately thereafter. Burial is at Grandview Memorial Park, followed by a memorial meal at Gougler Park, 1843 Lynn Road, Kent, Ohio.The family would like to thank the staff at Altercare for their loving care in her final days.
