George (Skip) Beck

George "Skip" Beck 85 of Ravenna, passed away Tuesday November 29, 2011 at his residence.  He was born and raised in Streetsboro on April 25, 1926 to the late Paul and Cathryn (Steinway) beck before moving to Ravenna in 2001.  He was retired owner operator of the Beck Trucking Company for which he operated  for over 55 years and was a member of St. Joan Of Arc Church in Streetsboro.  Survivors include his wife whom he married in 1963 Coletta (Kilbane) Beck, his special grandchildren Hanna, Carly, Jacob, Nash, sister in laws Verna Beck, Pat Kenosh, Theresa Jacobson,  nephews Jimmy, David, Michael, Douglas, Darrell, nieces Sue, Bonnie, Carol Diane, Michelle, Judy and many great nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Paul Beck, brothers Evans and Robert Beck and sisters Ruby Bilsky and Catherine Norman.  Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday December 2, 2011 at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Saturday December 3, 2011 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro, Ohio with Fr. Pat Ferraro officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Streetsboro, Ohio.  The family requests memorials to the Ravenna Township EMT Equipment Fund 6115 S.
