George Finch, Jr.

George Finch, Jr., 86 a lifelong resident of Ravenna, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011 in his home. He was born on August 16, 1924 a son of the late, George and Alice (Crumb) Finch, Sr. George was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and served in the Air Force during WWII. He was the owner and operator of George's Mobil Gas Station and retired from Havre's Chevrolet. George was an umpire as well as a coach for Hot Stove Baseball, an avid bowler, devoted Indians and Browns fan, and enjoyed watching his grandkids play various sports. He is survived by his son, Todd Finch; ex-daughter-in-law, Cheryl Finch; two grandchildren, Jordan and Kyle Finch; fiance, Mary Lohr; her daughters, Linda Lohr, Sue (Matt) Lohr, and Gayle (Greg) Horning; her sons, Tim (Jody) Lohr and Tom (Juanita) Lohr; and numerous grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marian Finch and Nola Finch; brother-in-law, Earl Bormuth; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Mary Finch; son, Danny Finch; sister, Katherine Bormuth; brothers, Robert, Don, Raymond, Thomas, and Jack; step-brother, Carl Rose; and step-sisters, Pauline and Wanda. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. A mass will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at Immaculate Conception Parish. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thank you to Harbor Light Hospice for all their care.
