George Swatko, Jr.

George Swatko, Jr. 85 of Kent died Saturday, May 26, 2018. He was born July 7, 1932 in Diamond, Ohio to George and Elizabeth (Soltis) Swatko, Sr. He was a US Army veteran. George worked as a delivery man for a drug company, was a farmer, worked in a steel mill and was a sheriff deputy. He loved electronic, music, animals, nature, long relaxing drives and he was a self-taught accordion player in bands in the Army. Survivors include his cousin Barbara Hastings of SanAntonio, TX, former wife Katherine Mulloy and God daughter Jennifer Casey. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Rose Leway. Cremation has taken place. Private burial will be in Newton Falls Cemetery, Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
