Gerald L. "Jerry" Kline

Gerald "Jerry Leo Kline Sr., 75, a lifelong resident of Ravenna passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at home. He was born November 27, 1941 in Ravenna to Joseph and Helen (Knapp) Kline. Jerry worked at Rotek for 41 years until his retirement and was a member of the United Steel Workers of America District 1 Local 08565. He was a devoted. loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed raising his children, visiting with his grandchildren and sharing a cup of coffee with friends. Jerry was a lifelong sports fan of the Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Rebecca "Becky" (Roseling) Kline, children Gerald (Jennifer) Kline, Helen (Jeremy Bradfield) Kline, and Karen Smith, son in law Nick Smith, grandchildren Jessica Hunt, Dillon Hunt, Conner Bradfield, Colton Bradfield, Alex Smith, Shelton Shilliday, Natalie Kline and Allison Kline, brother James Kline, sisters Barbara Kline ad Rita Starkey and his dog Spook. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Helen Kline and Linda Gonzales and brothers Sylvan, Vernon, William, Robert, Kenneth, Jerome and Joseph Kline. Calling hours will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend William Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
