Gerald George Sott

Gerald George Sott 72 of Ravenna passed away Wednesday July 7, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center Fairlawn.  He was born April 18, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late George and Mary (Krych) Sott.  He served with the US Army. Jerry lived in Ravenna since 1971 where he retired from Western Electric in 1981, was a member of Immaculate Conception Church , and was a life time member of the Telephone Pioneers.  He enjoyed the outdoors, and spending time with his grand-children. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Rose (Jackey) Sott, sons, James (Samantha) Sott of Ravenna, Joseph (Vicki) Sott of Brimfield, grandchildren, Christie, Caitlin, Kyle, Julia, Olivia, Morgan, Aubrey, Seth, brother, Robert Sott of Chesterland and many nieces and nephews .  Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Church with Father John Michelle Lavelle officiating. Calling hours will be held later from 4 -6 PM Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.  Burial will be held at later date in St. Mary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions to Hospice Care Center , 3385 Ridgewood Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333 or The American Cancer Society , 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406 .
