Gerald Lee Varney

Gerald Lee Varney 64 of Mantua passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at his residence. He was born July 30, 1957 in Waterville, MA to Raymond Edward and Marcia Ellen (Gifford) McAleer. He was a member of Parkside Church, a US Coast Guard veteran and worked as a shipping manager for Intigral Glass. He valued God, attending church, helping others, and spending time with family.  His favorite hobbies included woodworking, gardening, and snorkeling.  Survivors include his wife Isabelle (Shortridge), children Patrick (Melissa), Ryan (Kim), Tim (Andrea), Shannon (Jason) Nusbaum, Krista (Mike) Webb, Chaz Shortridge, Bobby (Neva) Shortridge and Natalie (Eric) Shortridge , 21 grandchildren and siblings Richard Varney and Jean Ryder. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Cathy Fortuna, and son Richard. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on January 19, 2022 at Parkside Church,  7100 Pettibone Rd, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023.
