Glenn L. Abels

Glenn L. Abels 59 of Ravenna died Saturday, March 31, 2012. He was born May 9, 1952 in Salem Ohio to Donald John and Patricia Alice (Johnson) Abels. A Ravenna resident since 1969, he was a machine adjuster for the GE Lamp Plant in Ravenna, a member of the Ravenna Eagles, Ravenna Moose and the First Christian Church in Ravenna. Glenn enjoyed everything that involved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, farming and doing reenactments. He would always put his family and friends first. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years Sandra (Snowberger), sons Jeremy (Tina) Abels of Ravenna and Jason (Missy) Abels of Whiteford, MD, cherished grandchildren Jeremy Jr., Joey, Kody, Sierra, Nevada, Kaydee and Ashlee, mother Patricia Elsasser of Mansfield, sisters Wendy (Kevin) Case of Mexico and Karen (Mike) Hamman of Mansfield and a brother Bryan (Penne) Abels of SC. He was preceded in death by his father Donald J. Abels. Calling hours will be form 3 PM to 7 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A celebration of Glenn's life will begin at 7 PM Tuesday with music, special remembrances by friends and family and services by Reverend Perry Mattern. Cremation will follow the service.
