Guy Anthony "Dan" Maglio 88 of Streetsboro passed away Saturday June 25, 2011 at his residence. He was born March 8, 1923 in Niagara Falls, New York to the late Dominic and Josephine (Ladota) Maglio. Dan has lived in Portage County since 1962, was formerly of Niagara Falls and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro. He retired from Kent State University Airport where he worked as a general manager. Prior to working for Kent State he was an investigator for the Portage County Prosecutor and also a successful real estate agent. He was an avid aviator at Mills Airport, enjoyed fishing with his family, was a disc jockey in Canada and New York. He proudly served his country in the US Marines during WW II. Survivors include his wife Marion (Martin) Maglio whom he married Sept. 29, 1962, his children Anthony (Rafelina) Maglio of San Francisco, California, Julie (Tim) Crawford of Minnesota, Daniel (Rene) Maglio of Florida, Maria (Brad) Stay of Minnesota, John Forero of Florida, Teresa (Kevin) Hawkins of Streetsboro, 13 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sisters Rose Calandrelli of Florida and Mary Carter of Niagara Falls, New York. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon Marie Danford. There will be no calling hours, funeral services will be 7 PM Tuesday at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel. His final resting place will be in Evergreen Cemetery Streetsboro, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to St. Joan of Arc Church Streetsboro, Ohio.
