Haverd R. "Bud" Anderson

Haverd “Bud” Anderson of Aurora Ohio, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Friday August 29th.  He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years Doris Anderson, four sons David (Cindy), Larry (Vivian), Randy (Sue) and Robert (Ruth), seven grandchildren Dan, Ann, Tina, Michael, Brittany, Sara, Amy and 11 great grandchildren and additional blended family. He is also survived by sisters Geneva, and Katie Anderson. He was preceded in death by his siblings Charles, Louise, Louetta, Janice, Linda, Barbara, and Dwight. Bud was born in West Virginia on March 20, 1933, to Charles Anderson and Verdie (Dadisman) Anderson, the second oldest of 10 siblings. Bud came to Ohio in 1952 where he met Doris (his future wife). But, in 1953, he was drafted into the Army serving 2 years (19 months of it in Korea during the Korean War). After he returned from the service, he came back to Ohio and married his sweetheart Doris Calvin on September 17,1955. They purchased a home and moved to Aurora in 1966 where they raised their family. Bud worked in the automotive industry since early 1960’s and became the owner of Aurora Automotive in 1979 until he retired in 1995. After his retirement he enjoyed travelling from Alaska to Hawaii, Florida to Maine.  He loved the outdoors and could be found most days working on his garden and flowers or relaxing on his back porch savoring the benefits of hard work and appreciating the blessings from God.   Calling hours will be Thursday September 4, 2025 from 4 to 8 PM and on Friday September 5, 2025 from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 12 Noon at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Burial with military honors will follow in Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.  Please visit www.sscfuneralhomes.com to offer a condolence, share a memory or light a candle.
