Helen B. (Barnette) Holbrook

Helen B. Holbrook 93 of Birch River, WVA and formerly of Ravenna passed away Sunday November 11, 2012 at her son's house in Ravenna. She was born April 24, 1919 in Arcola, WVA to the late Fleming and Mary O. (Utt) Barnette. Mrs. Holbook retired in 1981 from the James A. Garfield School district where she was a 2nd Grade Teacher and during WW II she was known as one of the Rosie Riveters. Survivors include her daughters Anne (Dahn) Blankenship of Birch River WVA, Charlotte (Fred) Bennett of Cowen, WVA, son Lonnie (Jessica) Holbrook of Ravenna, , several grandchildren and many great grandchildren . In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hersel in 1976, grandchildren Danny and Veronica, daughter in law Naomi Holbrook and she was last of nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday November 16, 2012 at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with calling hours from 10:00 Am until time of services. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.
