Helen Louise Knight, of Ravenna, went home to be with the Lord at Longmeadow Care Center. Born May 6, 1926 in S. Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Ira Londus and Dora Mae (Perry) Chandler. She was a member of the Ravenna Freewill Baptist Church. Helen is the loving mother of her surviving children, James (Cathy) Knight of Ravenna, Joyce (Henry) Bennett of Resaca, Georgia, Evelyn (Daniel) Klegg of Ravenna, John Knight of Ravenna, Judy (Scott) Knight-Danford of Ravenna, Paul (Mary) Knight of Taylorsville, Georgia; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Howard (Vernice) Chandler of Heiskell, Tennessee; and sister, Anna Marie (Ray) Tyree of Mims, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Knight; son, Ira Steven Knight; brothers, Wesley and Harold Chandler and sister, Dorothy Burnett. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. Calling Hours will be held on Monday from 1-3 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where a funeral service will follow at 3PM, officiated by Rev. Jack Taylor. The family would like to Thank Robinson Memorial Hospice and Longmeadow Care Center for their outstanding care for Helen. And a special Thank You to Lady Bug, the resident Collie that was such a comfort. Also to Pastor Jack Taylor and the church family and Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home.
