Helen (Philipp) Groves

Helen Groves 99 of Ravenna peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2011. She was born June 11, 1912 in Paris Township to he late Conrad and Elizabeth (Zeitler) Philipp. Helen has lived in Ravenna all her life  where she worked as a clerk for Lawson's (Dairy Mart, was a custodian for Rausch Elementary school, and volunteered at Robinson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Church of God New Milford Road where she was a greeter. She enjoyed walking, crocheting, playing Solitaire, watching Christian TV, and the Cleveland Indians ball games; but her most favorite was spending time with her grandchildren and family. Survivors included her daughter Nancy Youngblood of Ravenna, grandchildren Debbie (Denny) Yonker, Cindy Youngblood, Richard Youngblood, Gary (Julie) Groves, Kim (Chris) Kennedy, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. Besides her parents she was preceded by her loving husband Clarence Groves, son Rev. Ronald Groves, 4 sisters, & 4 brothers.Calling hours will be held Monday December 26, 2011 from 11:00-1:00 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with the service following at 1:00 PM with Rev. Carl Holm officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, Paris Twp. Memorials can be made to the Church of God on New Milford Road Ravenna, Ohio.
