Helen Louise (Pytel) Turner

July 2, 1942 — May 26, 2013

Helen Louise Turner of Ravenna passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013. She was 70. Born July 2, 1942, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Frank and Mary Pytel, Helen lived in Ravenna for the past 44 years. She loved polka music and pierogies, but above all else she loved being with her family. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ann Pavlik and her brother Frank Pytel.  Helen is survived by her husband of 42 years Roscoe Turner and her brother John Pytel of Los Angeles, California;  sister Peggy Hammond (Pete) of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; son Rocky Turner of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; daughter Debbie Lucas of Garrettsville, Ohio; son Charlie Bevan (Susan) of Warren, Ohio, and Shawn Turner (Holly Schoenstein) of Stow, Ohio; and four grandchildren. Calling hours will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home in Ravenna. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Maplewood Christian Church, 7300 Route 88 in Ravenna. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
