Helen M. (Yanosik) Bruce

Helen Marie Bruce, 88, passed away quietly Wednesday, September 30, 2015 after months of failing health. She was born February 2, 1927 in Greene County, PA to James and Anna (Cevesna) Yanosik. Helen moved to Streetsboro in 1959 where she lived the rest of her days. Married to Frank Bruce for 26 years, they raised 3 children: William (Shirley) Bruce of Atlanta, GA, Kathy (Gary) Scheffel of Streetsboro and the late Richard Bruce. Also preceding her in death were her sister Margaret, brother Joseph, her parents and Frank Bruce, Jr. Helen was a homemaker known for her nut and poppyseed rolls and many other dishes. Necessity sent her to work first at Shope's laundromat and after learning to drive at age 50, Delta Systems until retirement. She leaves 6 loving  grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and sisters Madeline (Nick) Dragich of PA, Jean (Mike) Stefanik and Barbara Nickler both of CA. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro with Father Pat Ferraro officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Joan of Arc Church, 8894 State Route 14, Streestboro, OH 44241. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel.
