Henry John Hawkins 72 of Freedom Township passed away Monday, August 1, 2016. he was born November 5, 1943 in Ravenna, Ohio to Henry P. and Mary (Kincess) Hawkins. Henry was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a machinist and tool & die maker for Cantex in Aurora. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Garrettsville, where he served as an alter boy. Survivors include his wife of 51 years Marilyn (Griffin), children John Hawkins of Wooster, Tina (Mike) Hawkins-Frinzl of Parma Heights, Robert (Kim) Hawkins of Wadsworth and Scott (Renee) Hawkins of Cuyahoga Falls, 5 grandchildren and sisters Mary Champion of Garrettsville and Sharon Campbell of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Josephine Kincess and brother Robert Lee Hawkins. Calling hours will be from 6 - 8 PM Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday, August 5, 2016 at the funeral home with Father Steven Zeigler officiating. Burial will follow in Middlefield Cemetery in Middlefield, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the family c/o Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home, 141 N. Meridian Street, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
