Herschel L Hurd

Herschel  L. Hurd, Jr., passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Woodlands at Robinson. He was born March 12, 1926 in Ravenna a son of the late Hershel and Elda (Eckert) Hurd, Sr. Herschel was a Combination Man for  Ohio Bell At&T. He was a member of the Telephone  Pioneers of America, honorary member of the Communication Workers of America, Academy of Model Aeronautics,  Corsair Model Aircraft Club, N. Canton Hawks, and Ravenna Thunderbirds RC Club.  He was a veteran of the U.S Army serving in WWII. Herschel is survived by his children, Priscilla (Frank) Lucas of Aurora, David (Karen) Hurd of Rogers, Arkansas, and Russell Hurd of Ravenna; three grandchildren, Michelle, Sharon, and Jeffrey; sister, Betty Lou (Carl) Lane of Mogadore; and brother, Leslie Hurd of Charlestown. In addition to his parents, Herschel was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Hurd and brother, Gale Hurd. Cremation has taken place.  There will be no services at this time.
