Hollis E. "Jean" (Huffman) Stidd

Hollis Emmagene "Jean" Stidd" 83 of Ravenna passed away Sunday January 12, 2014 at Longmeadow Care Center following complications from a stroke  she suffered  while visiting  family  in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 16, 2013.  Jean was a mother to six adorable and devoted children,  "Her words ".   She shared her passion for books, traveling, gardening and especially eating with everyone.  Her  love for the people  in her life was expressed whether they were near or far. Throughout the twists and turns of her life's  journey, she maintained her dry wit and wicked sense of humor.  We are all better having known her, she will be truly missed. Survivors include her children Shelly (Larry) Wilson, Susan Soroczak,  sons David (Marsha) Stidd, Mark (Eileen) Stidd, son in law Terry Soroczak,  her sister Doris (Lyle) Worley, nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, her best friend Ruth Fitzgerald  and her many grand cats and dogs.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Merle in 2003, her sons Brian in 2004 and John in 2010 and her loving companion Bill Farkley.   There will be no calling hours, graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday January 16, 2014 at Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.
