Hurd W. Robenstine 92 of Ravenna died Sunday, November 15, 2015. He was born April 29, 1923 in Akron, Ohio to Nash and Anna (Selzer) Robenstine. A Ravenna resident since 1953, Mr. Robenstine was a manager in the trucking industry working for Twin Coach, White Motor Company and Roadway Express. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and collecting, and connected with the vendors at Hartville Flea Market. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time at his grandchildren's events. Hurd proudly served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. He was stationed in India where he flew the "Hump". He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and was twice awarded an Air Medal. Survivors include his daughter Robin Wise of Atwater, sons Dr. Rick (Chris) of Alliance, Rance (Susie) of Charlestown and Ron (Cindi) of Aurora, stepdaughter Nancy Kimes of Aurora, 21 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, sister Lucille Slama of Rootstown and a brother Dr. James Robenstine of St. Marys, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Nash Robenstine, Jr., daughter-in-law Susan E. Robenstine, son-in-law Jim Wise, and a grandson John Shivers. Calling hours will be from 4 - 7 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A Military Honors graveside service will be at 11 AM Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
