Irene Miklos Border

Irene Miklos Border 91 of Ravenna, formerly of Shalersville, died Thursday, January 17, 2013. She was born November 26, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Mary (Thomas) Miklos. Following the death of her parents, Irene and her sister Mary were raised by their aunt and uncle, William and Teresa Sabo, on their farm in Salersville, sharing most of the farms chores. She could drive the farm tractor, as well as the family pick-up truck at an early age. Irene worked as a secretary for Samuel Moore/Eaton Corporation in Mantua and was an avid artist – painter. She loved to play bridge and crochet. Survivors include her son Timothy J. (Elfriede) Border of Kent, grandchildren Ryan N (Mackenzie).Border and Jennifer H. (Jack) Bheam and great grandchildren Logan and Grayson Border. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas W. in 1967 and sister Mary Miklos. Friends will be received from 11 AM to time of services at 1 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Shalersville Historical Society, P.O. Box 687, Mantua, OH 44255.
