J. Thomas Hutter

J. Thomas "Tom" Hutter, 63, of Ravenna  passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014, at his residence.  He was born June 11, 1950, in Lakewood, Ohio, to the late John  Walter and Marian A. (Montanary) Hutter.  Tom lived in Ravenna since 1978.  In 2005, he retired from Ravenna City Schools where he taught at Brown Middle School.  During his life, he had a passion for renovation.  His final project was the refurbishing of his current residency, a 19th century barn.  He enjoyed the outdoors: golfing, camping, hiking, bird watching, and biking.  Tom loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandson, Alex.  Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Nancy Angerman, his daughter Emma (Chris) Taylor of Glasgow, KY, grandson Alex, and siblings Kathy (Frank) Giardino of Avon Lake, Ohio; Jeffrey (Meg) Hutter of Fairview Park, Ohio; and Michael (Pilar) Hutter of Rocky River, Ohio.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stuart Hutter.  Memorial calling hours will be  Sunday January 5, 2014 from 1PM until 6 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Monday January 6, 2014 at the  Kent Presbyterian Church with Rev. Aaron Meadows  officiating.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Robinson Memorial Hospice and Visiting Nurse or Portage Park District Foundation.
