Jack J. Chambers, 79, of Ravenna, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  Being a lifelong Ravenna resident, he was born in Ravenna, Ohio on May 8, 1942.  In 2004 he retired from Allen Aircraft where he was a production controller, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ravenna where he was an usher and a greeter and served on several committees, and in 2016 he and his wife Carolyn were Grand Marshals of the Ravenna Balloon Affair.  Jack was also known as the Mayor of Park Avenue, having celebrated many neighborhood block parties, and if you knew Jack Chambers he was always telling  stories which would start off by "This reminds me of a story."  He was preceded in death by his daughters Jackie Chambers Lapadula and Laura Chambers, his brother Kenny Chambers, and in laws Warren Davis, Beverly Brode and Darold Davis.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years Carolyn C. (Davis) Chambers whom he married December 2, 1961, his daughter Peggy (Bob) Collins, son in law Sal Lapadula, his grandchildren Dominic Lapadula, Holly Lapadula, Kelly Collins and Cole Collins, his brother Lee (Marion) Chambers and in laws Nancy Davis, Jerry (Dottie) Brode and Marcia Landon, as well as many family and friends.  In honoring his request, cremation has taken place.  Celebration of Life services will be Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 2-4 PM with memorial services to follow at 4 PM at the First United Methodist Church Ravenna, Ohio with Pastor Norma Bates officiating.  Jack's family would like to thank the staff and his nurses while in comfort corners at the Woodlands Health and Rehab, and Traditions Health Hospice Care, not just for his care, but also the care that was shown to them.  They also ask that in lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to First United Methodist Church Ravenna, Ohio or the Portage County APL.  Condolences and memories of Jack may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
