Jacquelyn S. "Jackie" (Pfile) Wise

Jacquelyn Sue (Pfile) Wise, 79, of Rootstown, passed away Wednesday September 4, 2024. She was born on February 21, 1945 to the late Robert C. and Mary V. (Geib) Pfile.

A lifelong Rootstown resident, she was the first college graduate in her family and a teacher by trade. But she devoted her life to raising her children and later to doting on her grandchildren and great grandchild. She also had a curious mind and loved to travel including trips to the western U.S., Europe, and South America.

Jackie loved organized sports of all kinds—particularly the Ohio State Buckeyes (We know she’s in Heaven rooting against Michigan!), Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians. An animal lover, she took fabulous care of her many horses and dogs over the years. She was also a fantastic cook (especially her blueberry cobbler, which was hoarded every summer by one of her grandsons) and her family-favorite recipes will continue to be handed down for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 57 years Curtis L. Wise. Survivors include her children Christina S. Wise, Corey G. (Nancy) Wise, Craig A. (Erin Brunner) Wise, her grandchildren Valerie (Jack Smith), Tyler, Dylan, Mason, and Madelyn, as well as her great-granddaughter Mia and her brother Robert Pfile.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday September 7, 2024 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home’s Ravenna Chapel, with callings hours from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral service directly afterward. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown, Ohio.
