James R. "Ray" Boone

James R. "Ray" Boone, 75, of Ravenna, passed away Friday August 14, 2026 at his home with his family by his side. Ray was born July 1, 1951 in Salem, Ohio to the late Joseph V. and Helen A. (Hobbs) Boone. He has lived in Ravenna since 1989, was a member of the First Christian Church and retired from the Kaycan Company where he worked as an office manager. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Tina Boone in 2004. Survivors include his loving companion of 20 and 1/2 years Cheryl L. Ward, his children Laura C. (James) Allen, Amy L. Wine, Joseph B. (Stacy) Boone, his grandchildren Jasmine, Jamie, Abigail, Jessie, Kendall, Bailey, his great grandson Christopher and his sister Myrna (Dan) Eaton. Calling hours will be 5 to 7 PM Tuesday August 18, 2026 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 Am Wednesday August 19, 2026 at the First Congregational Church in Ravenna with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.
