James U. ("Buck") Collins Sr.

James "Buck" Collins 75 of Ravenna, Ohio Passed away at Robinson Memorial Hospital Friday, May 24, 2013 with his family at his bedside. He was born May 27, 1937 in Ravenna to the late Chester Buel and Mary Regina (Ullom) Collins.  He worked for Lamson & Sessions  as a machinist where he retired after over 40 years. Buck enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, grilling, farming, and was a member of the Ravenna Moose Lodge for 33 years. Survivors included his children, Debra (Roger) Woods of  Eldridge, Iowa, James Collins Jr, of Ravenna, Christopher (Helen) Collins Sr, of Pierson, Michigan, Cheryl (Darrell) Summers of Streetsboro, Scot (Theresa) Collins Sr. of Kent,  19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, his siblings, Lola "Midge" Hughes, Ardis Mortimer, Laura Kelley, Pam Oostdyk, Mark Wilson, Mary Adams all of Ohio, Chester B. Collins Jr and Mary Pritchard both of NC.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley M. Collins whom died December 20, 2012, sisters Winona Wilson, Leona Ann Williams,  a brother, Darrell Franklin Collins, and 2 grandchildren.  Calling hours will be held from 6 - 8 PM Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM  Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Funeral Home with  Rich Hall officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.   Family has requested donations in lieu of flowers.
