James L. DeBolt, 91 of Stow, Ohio, passed away Friday May 24, 2024 at Bath Creek Estates in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. On June 9, 1932, he was born in New Kensington, PA to the late Joseph R. and Viola (Schrum) DeBolt. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the army. He retired from the Pennsylvania Coal Mines, General Motors and in 1993 from Kent State University as a maintenance supervisor. After retiring, he and his wife traveled the United States in their RV and became long term snow birds at River Vista Campground in Ruskin, Florida where they developed many strong friendships. He was known by all to be a hard working, kind, and most of all a jokester who's love of laughter was infectious. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Frances, Joan, William, Harvey, Arthur and Amelia. Survivors include his wife of 61 years Hazel (Hilliard) DeBolt whom he married May 4, 1963, his daughters Kimberly (Greg) Statts, Darlene (Steve Lamp) Buzash, his grandchildren, Michael Duncan, Danielle Buzash, Leah Buzash, Kaylee Buzash and his sister Josephine and her husband John. Calling hours will be Sunday June 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM until time of the funeral services at 4:00 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel. Committal services with Military honors will take place 1:45 PM Monday June 3, 2024 at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery Rittman, Ohio.
