James Lowell Dye, Jr. passed away at 67 years of age on Friday July 30th, 2010
at
Hillcrest Hospital
in
Cleveland
. James was born on December 26th, 1942 in
Cleveland Ohio to James L. and Magdalene Dye. He served 4 years in the
U.S.
Army
, attaining the rank of sergeant. Following his release from the Army, he
spent 5 years with Ohio Bell before he joined the Shaker Heights-Cleveland Fire
Department where he served for 22 years. James held the rank of 1st lieutenant
and EMT for 20 years on the department before retiring, and soon after served as
part-time Assistant Chief for the Streetsboro Fire Department. James was also a
Mason for 43 years, becoming a Master Mason with the ACACIA Lodge 0651 in
Euclid, Ohio
. He was a resident of Streesboro for 33 years and briefly served on
the
Civil Service Commission
. James is survived by his wife Patricia Dye of
Streetsboro, his son Joseph Dye of Shalersville, daughter Deborah Lucas of
Brimfield, daughter Jennifer Otten of Cincinnati, and brother Jerome of Jasper,
Georgia. Calling hours will be held
Tuesday August 3rd
from 2-4 and
6-8 PM
with
a Masonic Service at
7PM
. A funeral service will be held
on Wednesday at 1pm
.
All services will be held at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home,

Streetsboro, Ohio 44241
. In lieu of flowers, James’ wishes were for donations to
be made to Ohio Masonic Home,
